During my time at Enlighten, I was assigned to design the bus wrap for a Comic-Con pop-up event promoting Tubi TV’s new show, The Freak Brothers. With an extremely tight turnaround time of ten days before print, I was given a set of creative assets and minimal instructions on logo placement and featuring the characters. After doing some research on the show and its promotional materials, I took a day to create a rough draft of the design and share it with the clients for feedback.
After ensuring that the design direction was what they were looking for, I continued to perfect the main design components and made all requested changes. I assisted in leading meetings with Tubi TV executives and their media team to prepare for the event and streamline design decision-making. I kept Tubi’s media team updated with every edit over the next two days to gather feedback and keep the design process moving efficiently.
Once Tubi’s team approved the design, it was submitted to Comic-Con for approval and the printer for proofs simultaneously. The committee denied approval on our first submission due to the chemical dropper and potion in a character’s hands, so I communicated with the printing company while I met with the team and made the changes. After testing a couple of ideas, the team decided to replace the dropper and potion with a slice of pizza in one hand and the box in the other.
The team submitted the new artwork for approval. Once Comic-Con approved, I submitted the artwork changes, and I sent the client the printing company’s proofs for the final go-ahead to print. Although the timeline was tight and restricted by approvals from multiple sources, I was proud to have pleased the client and my team with how the final product turned out.
